Il Bruzzese Sangiovese Rose: the ‘Pink Panther’
This is a 100% Sangiovese (the main Chianti grape) rose wine. The producer works to organic principles, minimizing the use of more traditional treatments against pests and diseases. The grape is harvested sympathetically by hand and soft pressed as quickly as possible to ensure that fruit flavours are all captured. A cold temperature controlled maceration in stainless steel tanks then takes place and skin contact is brief to extract sufficient colour for the wonderful rose hue. This is followed by a 7 month maturation in steel then final refinement in bottles before release. This wine known as ‘The Pink Panther’, is a rose wine that combines both the structure of a red wine and the cleaning taste of a white wine.
This gives an attractive looking wine with a bright pink cherry colour. The nose shows reveals ripe red fruit notes of maraschino cherry, Mediterranean herbs, fresh flowers and with a lovely salty note. On the palate, the rose feels full bodied, fresh and clean. It develops with a harmonious structure, noticeable tannins and a firm mineral vein.
The Pink Panther is versatile and happy as an aperitif. It also combines beautifully with light pasta dishes, white meat and fish.
