La Bolla Sparkling Rose
La Bolla rose sparkling wine is produced in Roero area near the Barolo production zone in the Piedmont Region of North West Italy. The wine is a blend of Pinot Noir and Barbera which produces a pleasingly gentle and very drinkable result.
It is produced using the traditional Martinotti method, an older less industrial method than the ‘Metodo Charmat’ or ‘Tank’ method described for La Bolla production. With some skin contact the resultant colour is pale pink and has dominant aromas of white flesh fruits and floral notes to distinguish it. The fine and persistent perlage, mousse, will leave your mouth delicately dry.
It is well suited for an aperitif or to accompany a fish course. It is best served in a fluted glass in order to encourage the perlage and to allow a good concentration of delicate aromas towards the nose.
